Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would be considered, at least in the eyes of America, into the category of child prodigy. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents and family members, this came naturally. Maureen joined this wonderful refuge in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons was a successful contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin company, and also had shares in the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons is the second child from Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed the wonderful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and athletic games as a child and was a pro in athletics. Her natural interest and her talent to perform was impressive. The fact that she was awarded nearly every Feis prizes for her own country's drama and theatre performances was a testament to the fact that she was a natural performer. In her 14th year she joined at the Abbey Theater to follow her dream and study classical theatre and operatic vocals.
